| | | Jack Gottling <procurement.training@undp.org> |  | Jack Gottling has been a tutor on UNDP's training courses for the past 10 years and has conducted standard and tailormade courses for various UN organizations and governments in most regions of the world. His main expertise lies within public procurement and supplier relations management and he is a regular tutor on “Contract and Supplier Relations Management” as well as “Introductory Certificate in Public Procurement – CIPS Level 2”.
Jack Gottling joined the UN system in 1979 and thus has a solid background in international procurement. In 1993, he joined UNDP/IAPSO and later became Deputy Director and responsible for the Procurement Services Unit and member of the Management Team . He was responsible for the co-ordination of accelerated project deliveries to UNDP country offices. In addition, he coordinated procurement policy matters concerning projects financed by the World Bank, the African Development Bank and other development banks. He was also responsible for UNDP/IAPSO’s Marine Cargo Insurance Policy and Global Freight Forwarding arrangements. His earlier assignments include Senior Procurement Officer with the UN specialized Agency ILO in Geneva (1979-1993). He has undertaken a large number of procurement missions to country offices as well as projects mainly in Africa and Asia.
Jack Gottling retired from UNDP as Deputy Director in 2007 and is now one of our external tutors.
Jack Gottling is a Swedish National and his academic background is in mechanical engineering.

| | This course is designed for those working in the public sector interested in gaining a compre-hensive overview of public procurement and obtaining a professional certification and accreditation with CIPS. It is also relevant to those new to the procurement function or those who have worked in the function, but have not previously undertaken formal training. | | - The course is designed to be highly interactive.
- Participants will be working on challenging hands-on practical exercises and case studies with peers from other organizations and share best practices in public procurement.
- The course will also provide participants with the opportunity to discuss the different procurement rules and regulations of the various UN organisations.
- To achieve certification, students must complete and submit a work-based assessment latest three months after completion of each of the course (Level 2) to test for comprehension. The cost includes Professional fees for marking by tutor of work-based assessments and CIPS membership for one year (CIPS Certificate Member) and a dual branded UNDP and CIPS Diploma. For students requiring additional submissions of the work-based assessment (failed first and/or second attempt) the fee for resubmission is USD 200 per submission.
